Artist-writer Dana Lam invites you to an afternoon of curious, spontaneous, messy delight at her private studio as she prompts you to draw up a page from a moment in your life.
Biography:
Dana Lam is a visual artist, writer, performer, and Associate Artist with Checkpoint Theatre.
Dana’s semi-autobiographical work, Still Life, developed and presented by Checkpoint Theatre (2019), showcased her flair for working across disciplines. Her visual journal, The Art of Being a Grandmother: An Incomplete Diary of Becoming, published by Checkpoint Theatre (2023) was shortlisted for the 2024 Singapore Literature Prize. Most recently, Dana won the 2024 UOB Painting of the Year Silver Award under the Established Artist Category Singapore.
Outside of performance, Dana has worked as a newspaper reporter and volunteered with the Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE), serving as its President in 2000-2002 and again in 2009-2011.
